Free doesn't mean unprotected.
DataMail runs on the same XgenPlus infrastructure used by government departments and financial institutions, not a separate, lighter-weight system for the free product.
Four layers, in order.
Every message, coming in or going out, is scanned before it reaches your inbox or leaves it. No setup required; it's on by default.
Everything moving between your device and DataMail's servers is encrypted in transit, the same protection your bank's app uses.
Supporting 16 languages means someone could try registering an address that looks identical to a real one, in a different script, to fool people. Dr. Ajay Data helped write the global rules (at ICANN) that specifically block this. A scammer can't get away with a lookalike here the way they could on a system that never accounted for it.
Turn on fingerprint, face, or PIN lock in the app. Lose your phone, and whoever finds it still can't get into your mail.
Straight answers.
Does anyone at DataMail read my email?
No. Your messages are private. Automated systems scan for spam and viruses the same way any email provider does, but nobody at DataMail reads your mail.
Is my password safe?
Your password is never stored in plain text, and the connection between your device and DataMail's servers is encrypted, so it can't be intercepted in transit.
What happens if I lose my phone?
The DataMail app can be locked with your fingerprint, face, or a PIN. Without that, whoever has your phone can't open your inbox.
Is DataMail safe for children and students to use?
Yes. Every account gets the same spam and virus filtering, encrypted connections, and app lock as any other. There's no lighter-weight, less-protected tier for free or student accounts. More on this on the Students & Schools page.
If DataMail is free, how does it stay funded and secure?
DataMail runs on the same XgenPlus infrastructure that XgenPlus sells to paying enterprise and government customers: banks, PSUs, defense-adjacent organizations. Free accounts share that same infrastructure and its security, not a cut-down version of it.
What the platform holds, and what it means
Held by Data Ingenious Global Limited, the technology parent Data Xgen Technologies operates under. Independent audits of the infrastructure DataMail is built on, not marketing badges.
Independently audited information security management: how data is protected, end to end.
Quality management: consistent, documented processes, not ad hoc operations.
IT service management: how incidents and outages are actually handled.
Software engineering process maturity, independently assessed.
